Best Vegan Options in St.George, Utah

Updated Jan 2026

Hi, I’m Leah. I’ve been vegan in St. George, Utah for over 10 years (my partner for 15), back when vegan options here were basically nonexistent—and honestly, they’re still not always easy to find.

If you’ve ever risked a restaurant that claims to have vegan options only to end up with something mediocre, I get it. That’s exactly why this guide exists.

If you’re visiting Southern Utah and want to eat somewhere local, actually good, and intentionally vegan-friendly—not just chains like Chipotle or Costa Vida—you’re in the right place. You can eat those at home.

I’ve personally hand-selected these spots based on real vegan options, great flavor, and solid service. Nothing mediocre. Promise.

Here’s your go-to local vegan restaurant guide for St. George, Utah:

All-Vegan Restaurants St.George, Utah

The Hearty Beet, St.George Utah

The Hearty Beet

Previously a food truck, The Hearty Beet now has a storefront in Washington, Utah to share their delicious and healthy vegan food! The ONLY fully vegan (and gluten-free) restaurant in St.George, Utah, using local organic ingredients whenever possible.

I highly recommend the nachos, soup of the week (rotated, so definitely snag one before it changes next week!) beet lemonade (yasss), and one of her raw vegan desserts. To die for. We are so lucky to have this local gem.

Gaias Garden Cafe

Gaias’ Garden Cafe is the only vegetarian restaurant in St.George. Primarily vegan, now with an option to substitute local farm-fresh eggs as well. Most items can also be made gluten-free.

My personal favorites are the grilled cheese & tomato soup or the breakfast sandwich. They also offer acai bowls, toasts, coffee, tea, and housemade pastries – always with one gluten-free option – YUM.

Other Vegan Options in St.George, Utah

HB BEV CO St.George, Utah Vegan Food

HB Bev Co

Hands down one of my favorite places to go in St.George. The couple who owns this place are so friendly & brought this incredible place up from Cali. HB features cold-pressed juices, dairy-free ‘milk’ shakes, and vibrant fruit and grain bowls!

The storefront has industrial, swanky vibes. Everything on their menu is vegan and gluten-free! Their motto: “Everything we serve is dairy-free, gluten-free, sugar-free, and 100% guilt-free.”

My personal go-to is the “Straight Granola” which is like a fancy granola cereal fruit bowl with hemp milk! & you HAVE to try the Hemp chai tea – if you leave this place without one, you will have mad regrets.

Spitz Street Food - Vegan Options Southern utah

Spitz Mediterranean Street Food

We’re so excited to finally get one of these franchises here! Spitz has an entirely Vegan menu and an entirely Gluten-free menu – which is very exciting. If you’re feeling real naughty, their fries are actually so damn good lol.

Cool street vibes and even has a small bar top if you’re looking to chill out with Sangria or a beer with your meal.

Viva Chicken vegan options stgeorge ut

Viva Chicken

Despite the name (lol), the Viva Chicken franchise ironically does have some delicious vegan options! Chicken is an optional add-on for most dishes, so if you take off the cheese, you’re golden to try most menu items!

I personally get the Peruvian fried rice (no egg, no chicken) or the Andina Power Food Salad. Their naughty fries and fried plantains are also so bomb lol.

There are 3 sauces to choose from as well, and the GREEN one is the ONLY VEGAN one, heads up. But it’s also the most delicious anyway (I tried all of them back when I was just a vegetarian, so I’m allowed to say that).

Sandtown Pizza St.George, Utah vegan pizza

Sandtown Pizza

A guilty pleasure if there ever was one. Locally owned and operated, getting fresh local ingredients whenever possible – we are so lucky to have Sandtown Pizza! Items are marked “Vegan by request” here, but you can order most pizzas by switching to Vegan cheese! I love the Angel Dust pizza (if you like spice) or the Queen Marg. Definitely go check out this cool vibe.

greek ambrosia food truck

Greek Ambrosia

This is a local food truck in the area – you can typically find them at events or the Washington Farmers Market. So follow them on Instagram to see where they are posted up next, but – they do offer a fire vegan Gyro that has roasted veggies, hummus, fresh toppings, on a pita!

red fort indian cuisine vegan food options in st.george utah

Red Fort Indian Cuisine

If you love Indian food, this place is a must-eat!

Unbelievably delicious Indian food, right here in the heart of the town of St.George. It is new to the area- and seriously incredible.

There is nothing quite like this restaurant in this little town. It’s worth a visit!

Red Fort provides an entire vegan/vegetarian section on their menu for folks like us. AND if it isn’t placed in the vegan section, it will have a “V” icon next to the name of the dish, to indicate that it is vegan.

There are no “processed” vegan dishes here. Just delicious, authentic, vegan Indian food in decadent sauces! Top it off with a side of Naan- you will NOT regret it!

River Rock Roasting Company LRW vegan food st.george utah

River Rock Roasting Company

While this delicious river-facing restaurant is technically in La Verkin, it is certainly on my favorites list. Whether you are looking for coffee, midday sandwiches, or a night of pizza and beer, River Rock’s got you.

Admittedly, the coffee here is not my favorite. However, their pizza has to be my favorite in all of Southern Utah. You can get any pizza made vegan with their homemade cashew cheese. My personal favorites are the Beetza Pizza or the Phuket Peanut pizza- freaking YUM.

The food is fabulous, but the back patio’s canyon view (at sunset I suggest), is unbeatable and unlike anything, we have here in St.George. Actually, can you take me with you if you decide to go here? Thanks!

Tias Artisan Bakery & Restaurant vegan mexican food st george utah

Tias Artisan Bakery & Restaurant

Oh my gosh, you guys! This place is incredible, brand new, and adorable! Tias has a delectable, greasy vegan menu that you can actually taste the authenticity in (ignore the sour cream in that photo, I need to get my own photo of the food hehe).

Everything they have that’s vegan is listed with a (V) following it. Between delicious chikin’ tortilla soup, homemade pupusas, tacos, tamales and nachos, you will end up coming here more than once on your Southern Utah vacation, and that’s a guarantee! Check them out!

Zao Asian Cafe

#1 on my list was not hard to choose! Are you looking for Panda Express with a delicious vegan twist?

Forget Panda Express, my vegan friends. Look no further than Zao Asian Cafe!

Items are labeled vegan and gluten-free. It’s your choice between a bowl, tacos, a salad, or a Banh mi wrap:

  • All rice/noodle bases are vegan
  • Mix in some wok-seared veggies, Roasted Corn, and Tofu
  • Teriyaki, Chili Lemongrass, and Yellow Curry sauces are all vegan – not the Green Curry
  • Top that baby with carrot/daikon, cilantro, and guaca-mame (yes that is guac and edamame and it is 🔥)
  • Peanuts, red chili sambal, Korean chili sauce are also vegan – not the crispy onions
  • All lemonades are vegan – and incredibly delicious

 Go check them out!

Korea Picnic

The most underrated, hidden gem in Korean food our little part of Southern Utah has to offer. Most people who live here often never see it tucked away in its little corner.

But don’t be fooled, this is my absolute favorite (and only) Korean food option in St.George. If you’re looking for a delicious stir-fried noodle dish, bibimbap (a delicious rice dish like you’ve never had before) or spicy tofu soup, this is the place to be. As a bonus, the even label what is vegan and gluten-free!

Ike' sandwich shop st.george utah vegan sandwiches st.george utah vegan lunch st.george utah

Ike's Sandwich Shop

Finally! A sandwich shop I can get behind. If you’re like me, then you don’t eat at Jimmy John’s out of principle – given that he is pretty grossly involved in big game hunting. Needless to say, I don’t want to support that company. So I’ve been waiting for a long time for a sandwich shop replacement!

Que – Ike’s Love and Sandwiches! This sneaky sandwich shop is inside of a gas station called Fabulous Freddy’s, off of Bluff Street. With at least 10 or more vegan sandwich options from vegan fried chicken, to vegan steak, vegan turkey, and vegan meatballs?! This is my current obsession right now. Definitely go check it out.

*some items can be made gluten-free (if they have the bread in stock, I find they are often out 🙁

mixed green utah vegan

Mixed Greens

Another hidden gem right off St.George Boulevard! You choose between creating your own bowl with a wide variety of cooked and raw veggies as well as tofu, one of the Mixed Greens vegan bowls, or opt for a loaded, protein-luscious smoothie or acai bowls! Items are also labeled Gluten-free.

This place is pretty good, but sometimes I find it to be a hit or a miss – head over to the Boulevard and find out for yourself!

Slurpin Ramen Bar vegan ramen in st.george utah. vegan asian food st.george utah. copper content SEO marketing. leah roberts writing freelance writer st.george utah3

Slurpin' Ramen Bar

If you are a soup person like me (I could eat soup for every meal), you’ll want to try the Vegan Ramen at the Slurpin’ Ramen Bar. Yum! As an appetizer, go ahead and indulge in the Vegetable Gyozas, seaweed salad, or edamame!

Don’t discredit this small little ramen gem. They may only have 6 ramen dishes total to their name, but there’s a reason why even with 6 dishes, this place is POPPIN off!

*no gluten-free options as of yet

Cafe Sabor LRW vegan mexican food options in southern utah

Angelica’s Mexican Grill

A smash-hit I recently discovered this month is Angelica’s! If you’re craving a tasty vegan street taco, you’ll want to end up here. These tacos may not seem like much upon ordering (you’ll want to ask for veggie street tacos, beans with no cheese, and no rice).

The bell peppers, onions, and purple cabbage these babies are piled high with are packed with flavor! Add half of an avocado to really make your day. I think I’ll actually go there for lunch today…

Angelica’s Mexican Grill vegan mexican food st george utah

Cafe Sabor

I worked here for a brief period of time, back in my restaurant past, and I personally made sure certain dishes were vegan or could be made vegan. So if you are looking for some delicious authentic Mexican food, that’s still vegan- this should be your go-to place.

Appetizers:

  • Chips and salsa (they’re amazing here!)
  • Guacamole (ask for no fresca cheese)

Entrees/Side Dishes:

  • Veggie Fajitas (ask for no cheese or sour cream)
  • Veggie Burrito (this one comes vegan!)
  • Black Bean Soup (amazing! just ask for no sour cream or cheese on top)
  • Rice and Black Beans (ask for no cheese on top of the beans)

*items are also marked gluten-free

aubergine kitchen st.george utah

Aubergine Kitchen

While Aubergine Kitchen is not my personal favorite, they do label their dishes Vegan or Gluten-free, which makes the selection process quite easy.

They have a small variety of bowls and salads to choose from, but my personal favorite are the options for vegan treats, shakes, and smoothies. YES – I said shake! They have a vegan nice-cream shake that is to die for, and that is primarily all I go there for lol!

Blaze pizza LRW vegan pizza st.george utah

Blaze Pizza

Oh yes, Lebron’s very own pizzeria has made its way to St.George. Luckily, Lebron is a bit of a dabbler in vegan cuisine, which is beneficial to us right?!

Items should be marked vegan and gluten-free, but just in case:

  • Classic or high-rise dough
  • Red sauce or spicy red sauce
  • Sprinkle some vegan cheese on that bad boy
  • Choose from any of the veggie toppings
  • Bonus: Blaze offers vegan tofu chicken on request, and soy-rizo!
  • Lemonades here are perhaps my favorite in town!
sakura japanese steakhouse vegan japanese food st.george utah. vegan japanesee steakhouse st george utah. vegan restaurants in st.george utah. leah roberts writing

Sakura Japanese Steakhouse

St.George’s favorite Asian cuisine – and they just opened a brand new location. You’ve got some great options at Sakura if you are looking for delicious Japanese food.

Appetizers:

  • Vegetarian Spring Rolls
  • Miso Soup
  • Fried Tofu
  • Vegetable Tempura
  • Edamame

Entrees & Side Dishes:

  • Teriyaki Noodles with veggies (ask for no fish sauce)
  • Sautéed Hibachi veggies with rice
  • Steamed white or brown rice
  • Avocado Roll
  • Vegetable Roll

I order the same trio of dishes every time- Spring Rolls, Miso Soup, and an Avocado Roll. Incredible!

Bonus: ask your server about gluten-free – they carry Tamari and most dishes can be made with it instead of soy sauce

Ahis' LRW Ahi's Taste of Asia vegan pho soup st.george. vegan asian food st george utah.vegan thai food st george utah. leah roberts copper content digital marketing southern utah

Ahi's Taste of Asia

If you aren’t sick of Asian food yet on your trip to St.George, stop by Ahi’s Taste of Asia!

Most dishes here can be made vegan upon request– just ask for no fish sauce and add tofu or extra veggies. My personal go-to is the Vegetable Pho (ugh OMG order me some please) or the Pad Thai with tofu!

Now just a side note – there are two other places in St.George that offer vegan Pho, but this just happens to be my favorite. Each place has a different taste, so in case you want to try those out: Pho Vietnamese Cuisine and Ah’sya Vietnamese Restaurant.

 *items labeled gluten-free

kitchen thai express vegan utah

Kitchen Thai Express

We’re vegans, so of course, Thai food is a staple lol – items here are labeled veg and gluten-free. My personal favorite is the Pad See Ew (ask for no fish sauce + no egg, just in case) or the Fried Thai Basil Rice dish. They also have one of the best Mango Sticky Rice dishes I’ve ever had!!

royal thai cuisine express vegan restaurant

Royal Thai Cuisine Express

Not to be confused with “Royal Thai Cuisine,” which is a different restaurant entirely. This Express location is off of Brigham Road. Don’t ask me why. Anyway, the owner here is fabulous. They don’t use fish sauce, but rather, a sauce made from pineapples. So most items come vegan or can be made vegan (they are also labeled vegan). I love the Cashew Nuts dish or the Drunken Noodles personally!

Coffee Shops with Vegan Options in St.George, Utah

feellove coffee LRW vegan coffee shop options st.george utah

Feellove Coffee

While I am not a huge fan of the coffee this joint has to offer (although I do love their tea lattes), I can tell you that it has a unique, adorable boho coffee shop vibe. At night, this place turns into a hipster hangout, with schnazzy cocktails and live music. It’s definitely worth a shot– your wallet may be empty the next morning though!

Feellove lists a (V) next to coffee faves and even has a selection of vegan and gluten-free food items like a Vegan Cowboy Bowl or a VLT toast!

Secret menu item (this is my go to): ask for the vegan potato tacos and add tofu “eggs”. So good. & bonus, they are also gluten-free!

Xetava garden cafe vegan options ivins utah

Xetava Garden Cafe

This hidden beauty is tucked away on the edge of Snow Canyon State Park, in a little town called Kayenta. It’s about 15 minutes outside of St.George and well worth the drive.

I personally love the cauliflower tacos – yum! Bonus: they make a great latte!

*items labeled vegan and gluten-free

Perks Coffee St.George Utah coffee shop

Perks Espresso & Smoothies

One of the first coffee shops St.George had to offer. It’s got a brick-and-mortar location and several trailer options around town. And bonus – a yummy on-the-go vegan menu as well (if they have it in stock).

Other restaurants that offer vegan options in St.George, but haven’t made my personal faves list

And it’s not because they aren’t good, but maybe it’s for one of four reasons:

  1. They’re just not my cup of tea
  2. They’re commercial and not local
  3. They only have like one option that can be made vegan, so it wasn’t worth mentioning
  4. They have a “vegan” option, but I can’t vouch for the validity of it because of bad experiences.

Now I won’t say which is which, you’ll just have to take that risk:

  • Cliffside Restaurant
  • George’s Corner
  • Benja’s Thai Garden
  • Teriyaki Madness
  • Teriyaki Grill
  • Cup Bop
  • Pieology
  • Mad Pita
  • Nick the Greek
  • The Habit Grill
  • Morty’s Cafe
  • Pepper’s Cantina

Natural Food Stores & Markets in St.George:

  • Natural Grocers
  • Sprouts
  • Harmons
  • Dixie Nutrition
  • Frei’s Market
  • Downtown Farmers Market – Saturdays
  • Washington Farmers Market – Saturdays
